Fishtown does it for me because it's on my way back from town. However, being a long-time connoisseur of take-aways since the 1960's they don't match-up to "Golden Takeaways" in central Palmerston Nth who cook & crisp everything to almost perfection. I keep a diary of takeaways with all their pluses & minuses. I Wanganui there are twice as many fish & chip shops as in P. Nth on almost every corner (mostly Asian owned & operated) where the standard is higher due to competition & cheaper also. I've lived in Aussie on & off since the 1980's where fish & chips are very expensive with no-where near our appreciation of such, except for Barramundi-fillets that are equal to any of the best fish available.
Chinese meals good. So are the fish & chips. Although one time they gave my fried rice to the wrong customer. And it was sitting there waiting for me for a long time.
Really good food and prompt service.
Smorgasbord has lots of delicious dishes to choose from.
